It couldn’t be better 💛

When I was choosing a year-long Spanish course in Barcelona, I researched many schools and read reviews. Therefore, I hope my review will be useful to someone who is currently making a choice 😁

I have been learning Spanish here since October, starting from almost zero, and my language level has improved much more than I could have imagined in such a short time. In my daily life (in cafes, hospitals, banks, and the Camino de Santiago), my current level is sufficient, and I can even read books.

The training is really very effective: 4 hours a day, of course, is a lot, but this time is definitely worth it.

I also like that the school constantly organizes some additional activities for students – excursions, holidays, calzotada :))) With all this, studying is even more interesting.

I haven’t regretted a single day that I chose Frida 🥰

The school creates a warm, motivating environment where students feel encouraged to practice and improve. I especially appreciate the modern teaching methods and small group sizes, which ensure that everyone gets enough attention.

One of the best language schools, in my opinion. I’m very grateful to our teacher Tamara, who made learning Spanish truly engaging and kept us motivated. Her teaching style is professional and effective — you start noticing real progress after just a few classes. The school in Gràcia has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and it’s a place where you enjoy coming and spend days to learn language.

I studied at this school for almost two years, progressing from level A1 all the way to C2. During that time, I had classes with nearly all the teachers, each of them brings their own unique and engaging approach to the classroom, which perfectly complements the learning materials and helps develop real, living language skills from different angles.

Many of my classmates were able to pass official DELE exams at the C1 levels thanks to the training we received here, which speaks volumes about the quality of the teaching.

Another thing I really appreciated was that many teachers come from different parts of Spain and Latin America. Through their backgrounds, they naturally introduced us to the customs, accents, and cultural nuances of various Spanish-speaking regions. It was a great way to not only learn the language but to deepen our understanding of the wider Spanish-speaking world and its rich diversity.

The school also organizes a wide variety of extracurricular activities, that are always fun, diverse, and well thought-out. These events added so much to the overall experience and helped me meet amazing people from all over the world, some of whom have become close friends.

This school isn’t just about learning Spanish, it’s about becoming part of a vibrant international community that makes the journey both effective and unforgettable.

Though I’m not a fan of the desks or the books used, the teachers are absolutely amazing. There is not a moment in class without your ongoing participation, really forcing you to learn to speak. Mariana- a lovely woman from Mexico – is the absolute best, of three teachers I have had so far. Not only does she understand many dialects of Spanish – She’s accommodating, entertaining, empathetic, intelligent and honestly the only reason I am able to fully grasp all the concepts.

I wholeheartedly recommend this language school in Barcelona!

Great language school with supportive atmosphere and recourses to help students to achieve their learning goals, no matter you are a beginner or proficient. Great instructors, using variety of teaching tools from playing games to practicing grammar. All that, give a great result to a committed pupil. Recommend to anyone, willing to make a progress in learning language.

After moving to Barcelona freeda has quickly become one of my «feels like home» spaces! Teachers and staff are friendly and welcoming, always have an open ear and of course are highly professional!
I started with an intensive course of 4hours every day – now, next to work, I take my B1 lessons twice a week for 2 hours. I am very happy with the flexible organisation and also highly appreciate all the additional activities and excursions🙏
I also love my fellow students – so great to meet people from all over the world while trying our best to sound more Spanish 😅

Being a language teacher myself I can bet that there is no chance to find a better school for studying Spanish than FreeDa. It’s not about learning grammar rules, reading texts or struggling to get through the audio records. FreeDa team assures that you start speaking Spanish and thinking in Spanish from the moment you enter the class. Brillant professors, incredibly successful methodology, great environment, super supportive and responsive management team. It is the best experience which you would want to repeat over and over! Thank you, guys!!!

I am writing this review after finishing my second week of classes at Freeda. I have signed up for 3 weeks of intensive A1 Spanish.

I will start by saying our class has not had a normal schedule, our intended instructor has been sick the entire time, so for the first 2 weeks we have had 4 or 5 different instructors. I will say they have all been great and passionate about teaching Spanish but this has not allowed for a linear learning process, as each instructor has a bit different teaching style and has taught us a varied agenda of subjects. I’m saying this as a note that Freeda does not seem to have a plan in place for prolonged instructor absence.

Additionally, the school is in the El Born neighborhood, so it is very small and loud inside, making the learning experience somewhat difficult. I’m sure this is a characteristic of most schools in this area.

While Freeda acknowledges that my experience has not been typical, when asked about the ability to refund any unattended classes (as I don’t feel I’m learning at the rate 20hrs a week should allow) I was reminded that I signed a contract that states refunds are not a possibility. So I will finish the remainder of my classes and update my review if my opinions change. At this point I don’t even want to finish the classes but I don’t want to waste the money I spent.

TLDR: The people are nice, but if you don’t have a great experience there isn’t much they can do for you
