I had an interesting week at Freeda Gràcia studying Spanish. There are many positive things to say about the school that have been detailed in others’ comments. Although I liked my teacher and she was a good instructor, there were several negatives for me. The first is that the acoustics in the classroom are very poor which makes it difficult for anyone with even a mild hearing loss to be able to hear clearly. Acoustic sound-absorbing panels would help. The second is cultural. Evidently it is ok in Spain to belittle a student in front of the entire classroom. This happened on a daily basis with one student singled out. In America, a teacher who did this would be put on notice immediately. When discussing the matter with another student I was told it was customary, and a different teacher had asked him if he was “learning disabled.” Finally, they do not do oral placement interviews with students before assigning a classroom. Placement solely on a short written test does not always reflect overall language skills. There are a lot of language schools in Barcelona and although I do not rule it out completely, I would think twice before going back to Freeda.

Freeda Language School gave me the opportunity to become a better version of myself.

It has a great ambience, a modern and intelligent director, and a wonderful team.

Freeda is the best school for learning Spanish! The teaching staff is carefully selected, highly professional, attentive, and passionate.
The school itself is also impressive, stylish and cozy. Plus, it’s in a very convenient location. If you’re looking for the perfect place to learn Spanish, Freeda is the way to go 😌

One of my favorite places in Barcelona! The school gives you an incredible sense of community and belonging. The teachers and all of the staff is amazing. Couldn’t be happier with my choice of the school. Highly recommend!

I have been studying at Freeda for 4 months, and my Spanish has progressed so quickly, as has my confidence in speaking! I was nervous to begin an intensive program for 4 hours a day, but I look forward to going to classes each and every day. I’m genuinely excited to keep learning Spanish, and my professor is truly a master of her trade. She makes us feel heard, understood, and takes the time to make sure we understand the course content so no one is left behind or overwhelmed. I highly recommend choosing this school for your Spanish language journey!

I just finished a 4 week intense private course with Freeda, and it has been such a good experience!! I have truly enjoyed every class, and could not recommend this school enough. Everything is handled professionally, the teachers are engaged, the space itself is nice and the communication with the school is both fast and really easy. The school is there for you as a student and I really felt that my wishes were both heard and meet both before my first class and during my 4 weeks at the school. Lastly I have to thank my wonderful teacher David. He has so much experience, explains everything well, is structured and is so fun and engaging. From the first moment I felt safe and motivated to improve my Spanish. I had so much fun learning with him, and would absolutely recommend both Freeda as a school and David as a teacher to anyone looking for a Spanish school in Barcelona! I have nothing negative to say about my experience and would without hesitation choose Freeda again if I would like to continue with the next level in my Spanish learning journey!!! ☺️

I make a lot of progress studying Spanish here. The teachers are great – professional and friendly; other students in the group are super nice, and the place is really pleasant!

I have been attending FreeDa Language School in El Born since October 2024 and I have nothing but good things to say about my experience!

From my first interaction with Olga, it was her prompt and professional response to my email that drew my attention to the school. She promptly organised a meet-and-greet with me at the school, and after explaining my circumstances of wanting to extend my Student Visa (after 8 months at another school), she was super thorough about all of the documents and tasks I needed to do to make the extension possible. The fact the school gives you access to an affordable lawyer is a HUGE plus for me.

After starting classes, I quickly saw a huge difference in my learning ability. The teachers use a clear structure to every class, and are aware of the challenges every student in the class has (for example for me, coming from an English speaking country, providing extra support and guidance with pronunciation).

The teachers are professional and enthusiastic, and you know they want every student to progress.

Coming from another school that felt rushed, and didn’t have a lot of consistency with the teachers or students, I am super grateful to share a class with the same teacher and students week after week.

I chose to write this review in English because I could see other English speakers really benefiting from this wonderful school.
