The Au Pair International Exchange Programme allows you to live with a host family in another country while doing some household chores and looking after the children.
It is an inexpensive and fun way to travel, learn the language and immerse yourself in a new culture.
The requirements to become an Au Pair may vary from country to country. To become an Au Pair with a Spanish family, you must fulfil the following criteria:
Age 18-30
Basic knowledge of Spanish
Proficiency in English or another language (families are often looking for someone to teach their children a foreign language)
Ability to work with children
No criminal record
Previous experience working with children and references would be a huge plus
There are many platforms and resources where you can register and find a suitable host family. Once you have been interviewed and signed a contract, there are a few other things to consider:
You need to purchase health insurance that will cover your entire stay.
You need to enrol in an intensive Spanish language course. Usually the host country will cover these costs, but you should make sure that the course schedule does not overlap with your childcare commitments.
Participation in the Au Pair programme gives you discounts and privileges at museums, sports centres and entertainment events.
Our language school is no exception. Send us a message and find out which discount is suitable for your course.
Fill out the form and we will contact you to discuss any questions you may have.
